I also have had WeatherD freeze every night at 23:56. I just started using Weather Display with build 37, so I didn't realize it was the app. I wrote a couple of AppleScripts to quit & then restart WeatherD. I use MacScheduler to run the quit script at 23:55 (it runs about 20-30 seconds after the minute) & then run the launch script at 23:56. I've only been losing one minute of log data.
You have entered snow recently? There is a lot on this forum on the 23:56 stall due to snow input settings. Search is your friend. Inputting decimals in the manual snow input causes this.
Also, why write all kinds of Applescripts and others when MacRunCheck is available free to all Weather Display users? See the thread on that.
I have never heard of any user having to erase and install any OS to update or remove Weather Display. Not necessary.
No matter what I delete there are still bits that a new install sees. Now I think I've done so much fiddling that there is no other way. I really think Weather Display needs an uninstaller or a way to go back to a previous version.
incorrect. There are no "bits" left after uninstalling WD Mac. I make the installer and know exactly every file that is placed on the system.
To uninstall Weather Display, delete the /Applications/wdisplay folder, simple as that. Your data is safe in the Application Support/wdisplay folder, and there is no programs that run from that folder so delete it if you don't want to keep that data. If you want to uninstall the system extensions that come with Weather Display, there are only 3 of them, regardless of what others tell you. They are wdusbshieldirox.kext, wdusbirox.kext, and labjacknohid.kext all located in /System/Extensions folder
NOTE: the Library folder we speak of is the first one you see after opening your Hard disk, NOT the library folder in your Home folder.
Finally, to downgrade to an older version of WD Mac, simply use the old version's installer, it will perform the changes needed to go back to an older version as that is a flag I set in the package in order to allow that. I have most recent builds if you need one.

Sounds like your installation was on another drive or something we are not aware of. The installer places the program in /Applications/wdisplay/ and updates all the files to the latest versions. Do a search on weatherd and check each location to ensure you are not running duplicate copies of the program. I have seen this multiple times where a user moved the program to the desktop, then installed and started a second copy of it.. and even some who have tried to run 2 copies at the same time lol.
Hope this helps,
All the best,
Jmar
