I'd made this post because I've several years the Lacrosse 2305 and have tried everything to make it work more perfect icm with weather display.

At first:

The wind spikes: Often i had the reading 91,6km/h. Even when there was no wind. This one can be solved to replace the telephone cable with shielded cat5 or 6 cable. up to 20 metres is no problem! In fact for the best working of the whole station you can replace the standard cables with this one.

No wind reading: The computer MUST be grounded. If this is not, this problem appears, even the temperature and humidity can be flat.....

The rain gauge: The rain gauge has an magnetic switch which can be broken after several time. This little glass tube can be replaced and costs a few cents... Otherwise you get no reading.

The windspeed sensor: At this time the standard one can be replaced with a new one : TX118-20 with cups. This one gets a more relyable reading because it's always measuring the windspeed. The standard one must be first turned into the wind, the it begins measuring.

But now: It works fine with the TX118-20 but i get temp spikes. Also i noticed that the data file has this spike readings. So it is not only the spike! This after i have installed the TX 118. When i switch back the the original one this problem is solved. The temp spike comes with an interval of several hours.

Who can help me with this problem. Yes also this one has cat6 cable....

I think you're heading in the direction most of us former WS-23xx owners have gone...

It's a great starter station and certainly fun to tinker with but eventually I got tired of tinkering with it to get it to work accurately (you forgot to mention the low-quality humidity sensor).

Now, I'm not saying you have to buy a Davis, but since I got mine in March, 2006, my weather station headaches have ended.

In fact, other than a little maintenance and cleaning, the station has been headache free.

Perhaps now that you know you're serious about owning a weather station, it's time to upgrade. If you really do like to tinker, a 1-wire station might be the trick. All the components are first-rate and easily replaceable when one fails.

I'm getting temp spikes in the morning and it's driving me nuts.  To cold outside to monkey around a lot.  I have installed a shield to keep the sun away from the sensor and put it a few feet away from the sensor to keep the shield from acting as a heat sink and having the temp spike from that.  I might upgrade to a Davis  but that is a pretty big chunk of change to spend.  I'll have to think a while about that.

Yes, the Davis is on my wish list. But for now i have to stuck with the lacrosse and for the money is quite satisfying.

Has anyone a electric schedule of the equipment?
