WMR-968, 928, 918 battery level reading

Hi everyone,

I have a Radioshack 63-1016 wireless weather station, which is identical to the WMR 918-928-968 model stations. As I started to get lower battery level readings in WD for my temperature/humidity sensor sometimes (%50-60 at colder temperatures, e.g. below 7-8 Degrees Centigrade, whereas %100 again when it is warmer) I decided to replace the lithium batteries and also the alkaline backup batteries. However, nothing has changed, the same is still continuing to happen. By the way, I do not get any warning or low battery power indication on the weather station itself.

Is this normal or is the solar cell maybe not being able to collect enough sunshine? It is located in my balcony, so direct sunlight is not available most of the time..

Alkaline batteries have pretty poor cold weather performance.  I believe I have seen on here where most folks recommend replacing them with lithium.  Energizer's specifications for their lithium AA batteries say they have an operating range of -40°C to 85°C.  Of course they are more expensive but might be worth it if there is a concern that your sensors will quit working.

I have replaced all mine with Ultimate Lithium batteries, Before i was getting fluctuations in the
batteries but since the change not had one

Bashy do you mean that you have changed the BACKUP batteries, so not the ones being recharged with solar energy, am I right?

Are now your lithium backup batteries disposable ones or are they also rechargeable? Does this specification make any difference?

Oregon recommend Lithium batteries if you are operating below 0^oC.
They also stress that your bacup cells shoud not be rechargeable cells
