current icon with snow
« on: December 01, 2007, 05:15:39 PM »
Was wondering if anyone else experiences this behavior...my current icon will show sunny when snow is reported and a correct description of snow. I use a local metar to get the conditions. From what I can tell, at all other times the icon will correctly reflect the weather description from the metar but for some reason this mismatch occurs (when snow is reported).

048   Icon Type   Z   5 (Dry Clear)
049   Weather Desc   L   overcast - light snow

I'm guessing I may have some setting incorrectly configured(?).

I think I found the issue here. I originally had the "Your stations rain/wind/fog override the metar" box ticked. We were experiencing snow again this morning with the icon not working correctly so I experimented with unticking that box. After unticking, the icon correctly indicated snow. I made sure the metar being used had not changed during the time I did the test.

I have a similar issue with the rain instead of snow.

Surely unticking that box but produce incorrect readings, i.e.
If its raining at your station but sunny at the metar, WD would show sunny
