Methinks Shaggy must have won the lottery or his darling wife (DW) is very comfortable with all this!!  Its no use keeping secrets...

Well done anyway Shaggy. itsonly a one off cost to setup (mostly... HEHE! )

Except when you want to add extra devices and upgrade.

Me - I don't even have a shoestring budget  and I am hamstrung as well :( But we manage don't we...

Keepit coming Shaggy - I sense another totally different webpage around the corner...

Shaggy, you'll be wanting an upgrade to one of these next...

http://www.vaisala.com/weather/products/weatherinstruments/presentweather/fd12p

When you buy one, remember that it's forum etiquette to buy two and give one to the person who recommended the device to you

Does anyone know if you can get these in the UK? I know the Weathershop is gonna have them in a couple of weeks.

I'm sure Vaisala will be very happy to ship two to the UK for you (and me). The shipping cost is relatively small compared to the cost of the equipment.

Shaggy - you better be quick because Chirs (Administrator) turns 21 again today and he would be very appreciative of the thought!  It seems you should get him a gift and that would do just nicely!!

They are very clever devices - they are all devices in one and can sense and discriminate between drizzle, light rain, rain, hail and golf balls!

Expensive though... ;)

Na, I think you should go for one of these:

Less conspicuous when set up in the garden and if you get them close enough then it may cook sausages!!

With the Vaisala doing all the weather monitoring I'll have plenty of time to cook the sausages, burgers and kebabs (which have just been delivered). So it will need to arrive by 14:00 to give me time to set it up in time to light the BBQ and cook the food later in the afternoon. Do you think it will be here in time Shaggy?

I did think of one of those, but I thought that we should work up in reasonable upgrade steps. We can end up towards with a multi-gigawatt sausage cooker for next year. I think even Shaggy's wife would need a few months to save up for two of those.
