I would recommend GIF if you can't use PNG then.

JPG is most likely the worst selection as it works poorly on images with Text and can't generate a transparent background.

These images are output with Diffusion which kind of anti-aliases them.   The pallet is optimized rather than "web safe" as it is rare to find users with browser unable to deal with them now days.

As to creation, these are generated using Xara Xtreame and in raw format are in Vector format.   The button look is the use of a backward bezel using a rounded rather than flat form with higher than normal contrast.  The images were taken from your own photo album.

Kevin's explanation a few posts back... ;)

As I am at work and use IE6 I have noticed that IE6 cant handle transparent png did not notice this as at home I use FF so converted the file to gif but that looks crap as the rounded edges get jagged but the transparencie works....

Damm IE6 gonna leave it the way it is.

Yes I noticed the poor translation of transparent backgrounds at work - I could see a faint cream background to fill the square - didn't put 2 and 2 together... same issue IE6!  No problems with IE7 or Opera 9.2...

Cheers

**UPDATED**

Hi Kevin

Im about to change my website from the streetname (Buskelundtoften) to our city name (Silkeborg)

You would make me very happy, if you could change my logos from "Vejret på Buskelundtoften" and "Weather at Buskelundtoften" to:

"Vejret i Silkeborg" and "Weater in Silkeborg, Denmark"

I know you are very busy - but hope you might find the time someday.

Thanks for all your help you have done for me.

Best regards,

Henrik
