Tornado season has arrived
« on: June 22, 2007, 06:12:24 PM »
well.. it seems the weather has turned sour here, the NOAA weather radio is going off many times, even during messages others are arriving.  We have tornados in Iowa.   well  you can see the humidity is high, dew point and temp are very close and the sun is heating the atomosphere while this stuff is moving through the state.

Mostly in Dallas county and Boone county  which are about one county over.   This is the time, WIndy you want to be here on your next tornado trip to the US
VP2, Daytime Fars, Solar/UV; Soil station; extra temp/humid station; extra temp stations; Windows 7, 8G Ram , 1TB drive/external and Windows xp for weather data.

I see they now have upgraded to 5% tornado change for your area

get your camera ready !
but the CB does not look as strong now on the rain radar (it did have pink before)
and its all congealing into a line (MCS) already:
http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar.php?rid=dmx&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no

its descrete single cell or mutlie cell storms that are generaly the tornado produces, instead of a line of storms (with a line, one cell interefers with the other one (updrafts and downdrafts)

we had a good thunderstorm here (fast moving) for NZ...lightning every 30 seconds and hail to inch in size in some places (north of me) and squally winds of 45mph
