Hi
i purchased the update
next version of wdwebcamcapture:
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/wdwebcamcapture.zip

note, the picture looks a little different in the program, but the output should be still the same size, yes/no? (was for me)
( i will know soon enough re video creation if file size etc still ok)
(also this update i will try with the video creation to see if it works on this compiler instead of having to use the other pc and an older version of the component )

thanks for the donations !

Brian - this new webcamcapture seems to work just fine. It also solved an issue I had that every few days the webcamcapture exec would be hung and consume 100% CPU, but this one has been very stable.

I have another issue that is not new and not yet resolved that I am going to monitor for a week or so before I post.

so its stable for you....and I dont have any stability issues (windows 2000) with this latest wdewbcamcapture version,...but yet there are a few reports of people getting crashes with it (not much information provided with those reports (like windows version, etc))

Sorry to open this dead horse.. But..  It appears the wdwebcamcapture program still does not work correctly.  I am running WD10.37f.

My computer - Vista Ultimate 32bit, with Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX.

The program runs fine, then it give me the error about reverting to Vista Basic.

Any ideas?

do you mean the desk top reverts to Vista Basic instead of Arero?
I thought that resolved with an update component I got from the author with the latest wdwebcamcapture.exe program
which version are you using?

Yeah after awhile the desktop reverts to basic instead of Aero.  I am using the latest wdwebcamcature.exe that came in the full install of 37f.

Brian ok this is weird.

When both WD and the webcam software start, they do no have the arrows to minimize to tray.  I have to click on the graphs in WD to minimize and then tell the webcam program to hide.  Some time later, I will look at the camera and/or WD.  At this time, the minimize arrows appear.  Once I mimimize using the arrows, Vista goes to Basic.  If I kill the webcam capture, then Aero is restored.

Not sure what that means, but that is what it does.

Oh and once I kill the webcam software, the minimize buttons in WD vanish again!

Ok Brian - I think I know more.  Everytime Vista asks for admin permission to install something or the like and the screen flashes for the admin prompt, vista reverts to basic.  I have to kill wdwebcam then aero is restored.  Next I restart wdwebcam and life is good.
