I run Vista and WD and do not have any issues, I used to have but this was either other
program conflicting or my memory was causing issues..

Just remember, Vista needs at least 1gb of ram so to smoothly run anything on Vista i would
recommend 2GB.

I dont even have WD running in compatability mode, what i will say is there are some issues
with the webcam side of things, Sometimes Vista will go into basic mode with the webcam side
of things are running but this happens only when i put load on the PC.

Also theres some issues with the alldayvideo creation, but as i have not played with this properly
i cannot be any less vague, as soon as my new camera comes i will look into it some more
it might just be the WME v9 still having issues....

As it stands, without the webcam in use at present there are no issues with WD and Vista
Your system will more than likely be different to mine and will more than likely work fine.

I have many other programs running that could and more than likely does cause me issues!

None of these are questions Brian, I am just letting Fabry know what "might" occur

I am running the latest trial version of WD with irox pro and Vista.  when it is live everything is fine.  On exit I always save and exit.  On start up again it loads the history from the station, However, the live graphs only displays new data no history. If I go to view and data log file I can change the date and see loads of data. However, I cannot recreate any historical graphs? I have tried many ways with view graph history but I get nothing? Can you help me to understand how to create a historical graph from all the data in the data log file?

The strange thing is that the path on the c:\ drive is c:\programmefiles\wdisplay\logfiles etc. but these never seem to get updated the files that are getting updated are under username\appdata\local\virtualstore\programmfiles\wdisplay\logfiles???  can you explain is Vista storing the data in a different location to where the wd application files would look for that data?

many thanks

Hi
you are best to install wd into c:\wdisplay
(been the default install location for a while now)
and then make sure you set WD to run as administrator, by right mouse clicking on the WeatherD.exe icon
(have you done that?)
also make sure the time and date on the console matches the PC

Hi
yes it is all installed in c:programmefiles/wdisplay  but it appears to have decided to create the logfiles and data files under the username/appdata/local/virtual store etc.  very strange. the time matches exactly and it runs OK live.  I have just reset it to run as administrator and I will try that over the next couple of days.  thanks I do thinkt hat now vista is set on locating the logfiles in the virtual store then not too sure how I get them back other than manually copying them to the correct location?

hey
I'm very impressed, your answer so quick! But not only did I have to set wetherd.exe to run as an administrator but the shortcut on the desktop as all users run as administrator and the shortcut itself to run as administrator, and it appears to be now loading history back in the proper c:folder c:programme files/wdisplay etc. etc. not the user name/virtual store!! Only issue now is how much data have I "lost" in between times that is sitting stored in that virtual folder?  never mind now I can practice with the history graphs etc. I am sure to have more questions about that next.

thank you very much again

Vista Service Pack 1 was part of my Windows Update this morning.  Just to say that WD and WDL both seem to run on this with no problems.

It seems I have discovered a 'fix' for the video creation.  I have just moved to Vista and was having the problem of Colsole Host Script errors.  What was happening is the video file was being compiled but not encoded to WMA.

Searching the net I found a 'Hotfix'.
