WMR 100 HELP!

Hi everyone,
I am a new owner of a OS wmr 100 station and I am so far very happy with it but I seem to be "missing" a few things on the display.
- Heat index and wind chill, will they only show up under certain conditions ?? Right now, all I am getting is NA in the display.
-UV index, as of now I have nothing, just --- and I live in Florida so we have plenty of it.

I also tried to download the free software online but are running in to some problems when I am trying to install it, anyone else with the same problem ?
I emailed OS but so far no response and I assume that there must be a more complete manual out then what came with the station ?

As I said, I am brand new to this so any help would be great, reading the forum there seems to be a lot of "pros" out there !

Not sure about that one.

I'm pretty sure that the WMR-100 requires and add-on of the UV Sensor, so that is probably why you aren't getting any UV Index readings.

I'm not surprised, as Oregon Scientific's support has never really been that great.  You may want to take a look here.

they have not shipped the UV sensor yet...thats one thing
windchill will most likely only show up when temperature is below 50oF
and hat index when its above about 68oF?

for software, have you tried the 30 day trial of the weather display softare?

Remember, there's no such thing as a 'free lunch' . 

Take a look at the demo version of Weather Display, and persist with that for now, rather than learning how to drive that 'free' software and then deciding that you should've saved your time and effort and gone straight to Weather Display.

note, the one you can download is not actualy free, after 30 days you have to register it....
at the moment anyway (were as I do actualy have a free lite version of my software, that does not expire)

Well I never said it was, just meaning that he should take a good look at it and register it when the 30 days were up, rather than waste time now playing around with software that isn't as good and having to learn stuff all over again.

Then that makes my earlier post much more valid then.

He should definately look at the Weather Display demo version, rather than waste his time with 30 day demo of vws then.

I've read in your other posts that you've done quite a bit of work with WD to fully support the WMR100 station, so WD sounds like the best option.

This is great! I can not belive how many replies I recived...fantastic!! I will try the many things suggested and ( I guess there is no way around it...) call OS to see if they can give me an answer on the UV sensor.

Would this station be any good for hooking up to WDL.? I notice on the manual it says that the wireless updates every 60 seconds, which seems a bit slow to me.

WDL can update as quickly or as slowly as you want. Some people with limited bandwidth or who aren't that bothered about almost real time animation use 60 second updates.

the WMR100 windspeed updates every 5 to 10 seconds, and to the PC too

one thing I need to do with the WMR100 is try and get past the too many CRC errors with the outdoor temperature/humidity
(the WMR100 can handle 10 temp/hum sensors, and cycles through those when sending to the PC...which means the temp/hum data is not updated very often, and even less when half of the data packets for the temp/hum have a CRC error check (for some reason)
but then you could add a 1 wire temp/hum sensor and mount that where you want it (as the temp/hum sensor in a wmr100 is just under  the windspeed)

I checked out the WMR100 in the Oregon Scientific store yesterday. Nice! Looks to be a good starter station

Well I have decided it is the one for me. The decider, apart from Windys photos was the expandability that you can do, as well as the soon to be available UV. Bye bye 2310.
