Weather Underground wind
« on: October 10, 2006, 12:10:30 PM »
Hey troops,
I've noticed as of late, when I set my rapid fire for WU to 3 seconds, weather underground does not show the wind reading in mph as actual. I have to set rapid fire to 30 seconds b4 it recognizes any weather station wind data in mph. Sometimes it doesn't catch the wind at all. WD sees it fine on the display panel. Not to annoy Brian but when I run Virtual WX Station, that does the rapid fire right on the money. Is there something I can change in system or other to get the wind to be seen on WU as close to real time as I can?

there is another thread where it looks like wunderground is using the av and gust around the wrong way for rapid fire
and so a new 10.35g reverses that

:D Thanks Brian and Firewall! Working a heck of alot better than it was. Just gotta speed up my processor now. Yep Brian, I notified WU about it being on their end too, but, getting a response on the subject is like getting blood out of a turnip. Thanks again troops.

then wunderground has probems
they are using it wrong way around for the flash graphics....
and so with me changing it, that then correct that part but then gives the wrong info for the graph

I am not going to worry about it. I have checked every way possible, unticking, ticking and still it does not get my max gust.

is it that the gust is not getting through correctly with the option to reverse gust/average?
(so that the rapid fire shows the correct data)
or?

(because if that is what is happening, then, the problem is, the rapid fire will be correct, but wunderground database will not be correct, as it will be storing average as gust and gust as average....but that will mean the max gust will be wrong...(but the max average will be the max gust)
or something like that...

We have had pretty steady winds today and I was watching my console and WD along with wunderground. Rapidfire does not even get my max gust at all. No matter what I do it looks like to me it is getting avg wind still. Here is a pic of my main screen and you can see I have several gusts over 30 mph. I just checked my data from wunderground and it only shows a max of 32 and that is not even listed in the gust row. Here is the link to wunderground  http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KNDMINOT9

Sorry for being a pain in the neck.

I have tried that and usually shows the avg higher than the gusts. Brian I haved tried every way possible and it does not make much difference. Just curious do I need to restart WD if I tick any of those boxes? Yes I have tried that as well. Today from about 1200 to 1600 had both of them ticked.
