It's an invalid number of arguments because the "CWD" (change working directory) command should be followed by the name of the directory to change to, or at least " \" to change to the root directory.

you might have a space in the remote directory in the connections setup?
if its a blank, then i have wd set to not try to change the directory...

ah, its ok, if you are using it to upload to another ftp server, the files needed ..
so, now, is it setup#2 remote directory that is giving probs?

Remote or root Nikos ?
It's not necessary to change root dir because there's a fullpath listening for the files (d:\wdisplay\webfiles\xxxx.file) see img

CWD is a command after loggin in so it could be the remote dir, but 'm not shure
but with 3th part program Leech ftp.exe I can log in normaly
Is there any link to V10.30e ? Installed that vers at sunday

Yes, "CWD" is a directory change on the remote system, your probably won't ever see it in a WD FTP log but "LCD" is the command for "Local Change Directory". I know FTP, but Windy is better able to help you with this WD specific problem.

Ah, ok. Didn't change anything on the remote and local dir either.
Leechftp.exe is working fine with same host name passw etc
possibly code left at 2nd ftp server script ? changed sunday ±21.30h to latest vers of WD
internet update stopped at 20.40h (last upload)
tried with 'advanced internet settings' but same: 1st working fine 2nd has an error

I can try with most recent version I used, but I'll wait till Brian rise

Because that's a PWD, it's not trying to do a CWD

CWD is a request to change to another directory on the remote server.

PWD "Print Working Directory" is a request for the remote server to tell you what directory you are currently in. It doesn't need an argument.

In this case it's telling you it's in the root directory:

> PWD
< 257 "/" is current directory

if you set the remote directory in the general ftp setup to blank (delete everything there)
then wd ftp should not then try to do a change directory
but i will check on that
but i have to go and visit my brothers new baby today
