Wind Vane Options with Inspeed Vortex
« on: April 27, 2013, 10:02:18 AM »
I have brought my Davis Vantage Vue down from roof level and installed an Inspeed Vortex Anemometer. In Weather Display i now get wind speed from the Inspeed Vortex and direction from the Vue. The vue is about 10 feet high and blocked from certain wind directions so not ideal. I'm looking to add a direction Vane to give more accurate wind direction readings. I have a 1-wire system in operation which may give me add on options. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mike

To answer my own question it looks like the e-vane by inspeed is an option or moving the Davis back up to roof level on a different mount. I'm not entirely happy with my move with regards temps as my garden seems to be acting like a bowl and holding heat especially in sunshine. I feel i was getting a more accurate local reading when the Vue was in clear air. Somewhat of a re-think may be in order.
